Transforming Catalog Processing for 3D Visualization
Client Overview
VRNext develops software that allows architects to design rooms like kitchens and bathrooms in 3D. By using such software to showcase their products in a 3D virtual environment and helping their end-customers to easily visualize and select their preferred options.
Project Goals and Challenges
VRNext’s main challenge was the slow, manual process of adding large tile catalogs to their 3D system. Integrating even small catalogs could take up to two weeks. They needed a faster, more efficient, and technology-driven solution to streamline the process.

Technical Solutions
- Tech Stack: the backend was developed using Python and PostgreSQL. Redis was used for task management. While, the dashboard for process control was created using React.js.
- AI Agent for data extraction: An AI agent was designed to extract details such as descriptions, brands, models, prices, specifications, and images from annotated catalogs, efficiently structuring the data for integration into the database.
- Azure AI Custom Vision: was used to filter images and remove backgrounds, ensuring that the images were clear and suitable for 3D rendering
- Image Quality Enhancement: Real-ESRGAN was used to enhance image quality, ensuring that all visual elements were high-resolution for optimal 3D visualization.
- Process Management and UI Control: Redis and Task Queue were utilized to manage processes effectively, while the React dashboard provided VRNext's team with the ability to control and monitor tasks easily.
Results and Achievements
- Accelerated Processing: The new system enabled the processing of over 50 catalogs in a single week with minimal oversight.
- Scalable Integration: Large catalogs are now processed and seamlessly added to this 3D system.
- Improved Sales Engagement: The improved processing speed and visual quality helped VRNext create more compelling sales proposals. This led to increased client interest and higher sales figures.
